Branding, Design, Packaging, Retail
With their amazing chocolate now winning over 100 taste awards, it made sense to take this skill and apply to another luxury item, Gelato. So after extensive training, research and development and tastings it was ready to launch.
Dorset based Chococo initially served it from a gelato freezer by the scoop in a generic tub, a way of testing the waters. It was a huge success, as if there was any doubt, and so the second stage of the launch was implemented. As they built their wholesale network we got to work on the packaging. Huge printing production numbers and cost meant that individual flavour, fully printed tubs wasn’t feasible quite yet and would be launched in phase 3. So we came up with a design that tipped its hat at their core ‘look’, it was however these great great tastes that would be included in the gelato range. The tubs and lids were a generic design but with facility to personalise the flavours and unique ingredients, this was achieved by fixing bespoke stickers to certain parts if the generic tubs and lid. The packing line tested how this would work in practice and were more that happy that it wouldn’t cause any bottle necking, so all good to go. By listening to customer feedback the range can be easily tweaked and adjusted as phase 2 allows at minimum cost for new flavours to be added or old ones dropped.
We will re-look at this at phase 3 and see where this exciting project goes next.
