Project: A complete rethink to the Easter egg packaging was the brief. Historically people liked to see what was in the box, the eggs were all beautifully hand-decorated and so couldn’t be foil wrapped, so reluctantly cut-out sections and clear windows were added to allow for this. But with a company pushing hard to boost their eco-credentials together we had to come up with a better solution. Then lockdown happened and so retail outlets were closed. This was a good opportunity to test totally new packaging. All Easter eggs were viewed online so it was easy to show the box and product side by side. The feedback from customers was brilliant, not only did they love the new look but 100% bought into the plastic-free packaging. No going back. When the retail outlets reopened the walk in customers were equally as impressed.
With this precedent set it was the green light to update the full range of core and seasonal product to eco-friendly, plastic free packaging.
